It was a little bit ago but we had fun on Mother's day. I actually got my present early while we were in SLC the weekend before. We went to Costco after having lunch with Justin, Sara, and their kids, and Laurel and Tiffani to help celebrate that Tiffani graduated. Go Tiffani - I think you are amazing for sticking with it for so long. I decided that I really wanted a Kitchen aid stand mixer for Mother's day. I had really been wanting one for a while but never did since they are pricey, and I didn't have room for it in my old kitchen. I had a coupon from Costco that was going to expire soon so I got my present early. It is wonderful and I love it - and of course I picked out a red one.

The Friday before Landon brought home a paper flower that he made me and a packet of pictures and things about him. Like I am lucky because... "I have a boat" or I love my mom because.. "She ture (she's true)". I love it. As a side note Landon has been making a big deal that I am always honest and never trick him. He seems to really need someone that he can always believe and rely on. I am so glad he has picked me. Then on Sunday Kylie came home from church with a picture for me.

Marcus wasn't feeling great and I was a sub for the sunbeams. So he stayed home with Tannen and I took the two older kids to church with me. I had a great time teaching the sunbeams. They are such cute kids. Then we came home and Marcus made us tacos for lunch at my request. Then I had a roast slow cooking for dinner. It was wonderful.

Over the years I have learned to tell Marcus exactly what I want, and what I am thinking. And also to not have any expectations so then I will never be disappointed, and everything else will be a pleasant surprise. It has worked for us, and I loved my Mother's Day.

Another Tooth

Landon lost another tooth Tuesday night. This is his second tooth to loose, and it is another bottom one. His adult tooth was growing behind it just like the first one. At first it wasn't getting loose like the first one did, and I was worried that we would have to take him in to the dentist to get it pulled. But apparently it loosened up on it's own. We had to really talk him into letting Marcus pull it.

As a back story Landon has really been wanting to read my scriptures, and really wants his own Quad. I told him earlier that I would get him a small Book of Mormon, and after he read the whole thing then I would get him a Quad. He decided that was a good deal.

Well to help talk him into letting us get his tooth out I told him that I would buy him a Book of Mormon then next day. He got a quarter then next morning and then we bought him his first Book of Mormon. Of course I had to get Kylie one too.

My Heather is Gone

Last Wednesday the 29th I got to go visit Heather for the last time before she moved to Pennsylvania that Saturday. The little punk. I finally move closer to her, and then she leave me again. Oh well, I suppose that is the way life takes you. I had a great day with her. She was packing, and I pretty much just sat around and watched her while I held Tannen. My two older kids just disappeared in her house. They love it over there, and love playing with her kids. It was so relaxing to have a break from kids, and fill up on my Heather time. I love talking on the phone but it is never quite the same as being with someone.

I love her family. Her kids are so wonderful. Plus it helps that they love me too. I had Ashton climbing all over me. I think that kid was filling up with hugs and snuggles with me. He calls me winnie - which I love because that was one of my nicknames as a kid. And her little Lily seemed to be at my feet too smiling at me. I didn't see much of Carter - him and Landon had the greatest day playing together. And I did see some of Emmy. She of course pampered and played with Kylie and painted her nails. And then she wanted to hold Tannen. She loves babies. I could take home all her kids with me and love it.

I did get lost on the way home. Some how I missed the Brigham City Exit. Thank goodness for cell phones and Marcus. I did make it home fine. Tannen and Kylie were asleep in the back seat (of course I stayed at her house as late as possible) but Landon was awake. I found out after we figured out how to get home that Landon was pretty scared when I was lost.

I miss you Heather!! Sometime in the next three years I want to fly out there and monopolize your time.

Our House is Sold

I am so happy that our house is sold. We closed Friday May 1st and got a check deposited in our account. I am so relieved to not have to worry about it anymore. We signed our papers that Tuesday. Just taking them to the bank to get notarized. Then we overnighted them to the title company. My relief has been in stages. It was nice not to live and keep the house presentable the whole time it was on the market. Then some of my stress was over after we got the offer. Then it was nice feeling like everything was going to go through after we signed. So by the time our money was deposited I didn't have a huge wave of relief. But over all I am glad to be done with it. Now all we have to do is decided if we rent a house or buy a house.

Raising A Reader

Landon got a really cool inventions book for Easter. We were in the car for a short road trip and he decided to bring it. He has been looking at it and skipping around in the pages just reading it. We also like to sit down with him and read it. I can be found laying around the house with my nose in a book quite often and the kids are really used to seeing that.

So anyways we were in the car and he had his book in his lap and said:

"I am going to start at the beginning and read every page just like you do mom."

That brings the biggest smile to my face. I hope all of my kids inherit my love of reading good books.

A Little Late??

Marcus and I finally bought a cell phone. I finally broke down and wanted one. Haven't ever had one before. Marcus did have one at his last job, which was nice. I finally decided if we were going to be traveling a lot and boating all summer long that I wanted one. So we got a prepaid one. Pretty excited. Okay so we are about ten years late on this but oh well.
