Classic

So I was talking to Landon on Sunday. We were at my Dad's and Saturday night we did baths and got the kids all clean. Church didn't start till 1:00 so Landon played outside before. When he came in I asked "how did you get all dirty?" And he responded in all seriousness "I guess Grandpa's garden is dirty."

This weekend I was also talking to Kylie. This is how the conversation went:

Kylie: I'll give you a dollar if you give me a treat

Wendi: I don't think you have a dollar to give me.

Kylie: I'll make you a pretend dollar.

It seems pretty random coming from Kylie. We haven't tried to bribe the kids with money before, so I don't know where she got the idea. I love the little things they say. These brought smiles to my face, and a few laughs as well.

New Fishes

Kylie very pleased with her new fish

I decided to bribe Landon with a new fish if he would go to his new primary class. He has a very difficult time having new primary teachers. I ended up sitting with him for a little bit until Tannen got a little fussy. Landon of course ended up loving his new class. So last night we when to the store and bought each of the kids a fish. Kylie got a Pictus Catfish and named her Whiskers. Landon got a Blue Gourami and named her Lily. Landon really wanted a little shark and they had one but they didn't think it looked real healthy. Tannen got a Tiger Barb and we named him Shark Bait whoo ha haa. Of course you can't say Shark Bait without the whoo ha haa. We have enjoyed them so far and the kids love to watch them swim. I love it also and find if very soothing. We also hopefully prepped the kids in case their fish die, telling them that they may not live very long. But thankfully they are a pretty cheap replacement.

First Day First Grade

Landon was very happy for the first day

Kylie giving big hugs. All day the first day she said "I think it is time to get Landon."

Landon at the front door

Landon had a great first day of school. Really a great first week. He started August 25th on Tuesday. He had been a real pill for about two weeks before and really rotten the weekend before. I was more than delighted to send him to school. But looking back I think he was really anxious to start a new school, Church class, and move. So he was acting out, but I didn't figure it out till after he started. He is very well behaved and got a the very first sticker in computer class for following the rules. He was very pleased with himself.

We packed him a cold lunch the first day. He also can choose if he wants the hot lunch at school. Today he really wanted the grilled cheese sandwich, so I was more than delighted to not make him a lunch. I told him I remember my dad coming to lunch with me on my birthday and he would sit with me and we would have a hot lunch. When I was little that was the only day I got a hot lunch and I loved it. Landon wants me to come and eat lunch with him. So I am thinking about it on Friday because Marcus gets home early. We might be able to do it once in a while. He gets to ride his bike everyday, and really loves it. I push Kylie and Tannen in my double stroller and we all have a nice little walk to school.

Last week I was still trying to unpack boxes. I have most of them done, but the pictures. I also told Kylie we could start her little preschool with mommy the second week. So we started yesterday. She was delighted to work in her little book, and have mommy sit and help her. So far things have been going good, and Landon has a new friend named Lily. The second day he told me he really wanted to be her friend all day, so at the end of the day when they were getting their backpacks he was being shy but decided to just ask her if she wanted to be his friend. She said yes!!

Visiting Friends

Celeste (with her three kids) Jill, Jennifer, Kristine, Teresa (I am totally stealing this picture) Janna, and Me

Last week right before I moved I went up to Pocatello to hang out with high school friends, and have lunch. We have done an amazing job keeping in touch with each other. I was a great time to see them again. Last summer we had our own "friends reunion". It was great to get together again. Even if we still can quite seem to get everyone there. But I loved seeing them all and all the kids we have too.

Moving!

Life seems so busy. We have had a wonderful summer, and are getting ready to start school for Landon next week. I think that we are going to try and move places this week. But not sure as Marcus won't commit to anything yet. Either this week or next. We found a town house that we are going to rent. It is just a few miles from where we are living but it is bigger - not much but has a two car garage that is attached. We really need to get our stuff moved out of the parents garage. But we are hoping Marcus' grandpa will let our boat spend the winter in his huge garage again.

The kids have mixed emotions about it. Kylie for the most part is very excited. She is usually pretty good to roll with life and okay with change. Landon on the other hand doesn't want to move houses. We took the kids on Saturday to his new school and let them play on the playground. Then today I took the kids and got Landon registered for school. We got to walk around and find out where the library is and cafeteria. He is still luke warm about moving schools. The new one looks pretty cool. Can you believe they have five 1st grade classes!!! Five - I was really surprised. But it is townhouse land were we are moving so it makes sense.

We will sign on Wednesday and probably get the keys. She is moving out today and doesn't care when we move in since she will be moving states. I would like to have us all situated before school starts next week. In my head it would be easier for Landon if the house is stable and not in boxes or in between houses. We will see what Marcus decides to do. But I am sure I will get my way, because he is good like that.

Teething in Twos

Tannen had been a little cranky butt about 1-2 weeks ago. He wasn't sleeping well at night, and for a couple of nights I ended up sticking him in my bed - which I really hate. I wasn't sure what was up. Well about a week ago we were wondering if we were seeing two bottom teeth coming in. I was a little puzzled because with Landon and Kylie they would get red swollen bumps and then there teeth would cut through. Plus they always bit me while I was nursing them when they were teething (but only when they were teething). But he didn't do either. Tannen has been drooling like crazy and gnawing on stuff for the past couple of months. But a couple of days ago I could finally FEEL his first two bottom teeth. I was pretty surprised that they both came in at the same time. Plus I am pleased that he hasn't bitten me (yet as Marcus would say) which he will hopefully continue. That way I will be able to nurse him the full first year and not buy formula.

Also yay for yesterday Tannen turned six months!! I can't believe the time has just flown by.
